Melbourne’s North Food Group partner That’s Amore Cheese was named Business of the Year at the prestigious 2019 Northern Melbourne Business Achievement Awards, held in December. The business also took out the region’s Customer Service Award.
Three other MNFG partners were also major award winners on the day – Brite (Human Resources Award), Naturally Good Products (Export Award) and Hot Coals Catering (Sustainability & Environment Award).
Industry leaders and mayors from six municipalities in Melbourne’s north attended the event, which recognises local business achievement, encourages innovation and provides valuable networking opportunities for enterprise growth and development.
Chris James, Executive Director NORTH Link, congratulated the winners and nominees on their awards.
“The 2019 NBAA Grand Finale again showcased the best that Melbourne’s north industry has to offer,” he said. “This year’s event particularly highlighted the growth and innovation occurring in the north.”
Managed by NORTH Link, MNFG provides the food and beverage industry with domestic and international opportunities while helping to build business capabilities.
Margaret McLelland, MNFG General Manager Membership, Events and International Trade, expressed her pride in the nominations of the group’s partner businesses.
“These awards are fantastic recognition of the achievements of our region’s food and beverage businesses,” she said. “They also reinforce the importance of food and beverage manufacturers, and their supply chain, to the local, regional, state and national economy.”
Over 200 business people attended the breakfast and were treated to a stimulating and humorous keynote speech from actor and comedian Denise Scott.
The NBAAs were established by NORTH Link with initial funding from the Victorian Government and the support of the Cities of Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Moreland and Whittlesea, and the Shire of Nillumbik.
