MNFG partner creates a breakfast with impact
Five years ago, Brite had never thought about food manufacturing. Today, thanks to the assistance of MNFG, Brite Muesli is sold in selected IGA/Ritchies supermarkets across Melbourne and has just started exporting to Malaysia.
Brite is a social enterprise in Broadmeadows that provides genuine employment for 150 people with a disability. Diversifying into food manufacturing meant securing jobs for their supported employees.
“The MNFG network was invaluable and integral to our success,” said Robert Hannaford, Brite CEO. “We were introduced to a whole range of partners who assisted us with recipe development, ingredients, quality assurance, distribution channels and export advice. It’s early days, but we anticipate that our market share will grow.”
Brite Muesli, which was launched last year, uses a mix of local ingredients from Australian farms and is packed by the team at Brite. It comes in three varieties – Fruit & Nut, Tropical Blend, and Apple Cranberry, Coconut and Almond Blend.
“That’s the strength of MNFG,” said Margaret McLelland, MNFG’s General Manager Membership, Events and International Trade. “Our partners work with each other to get advice, share market intelligence, develop new ideas and advance to their mutual benefit. It’s a win-win.”
